ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To accomplish this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Read blueprints, sketches, or CAD and CAM files.
  • Display a working knowledge of GD & T.
  • Set up, operate and disassemble manual, automatic, and CNC machine tools.
  • Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
  • Build fixtures for machining parts.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines.
  • Turn, mill, drill, shape and grind machine parts to specifications and maintain tolerances.
  • Use gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed products for defects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of machinist apprenticeship program with a minimum of 5 years of machinist experience. Journeyman certification is a plus.
